What is a conveyancer?

A conveyancer is a licensed property specialist who handles the legal side of buying, selling or refinancing a home. In New Zealand, conveyancers are regulated under the Lawyers and Conveyancers Act 2006. They check the agreement, title and LIM, work with your bank and the other party, and complete settlement for you.

Many lenders do. ANZ, for example, now instructs licensed conveyancers directly, so there’s no extra law-firm fee. A few lenders, including Westpac, still need a law firm to sign their mortgage certificate. Where that applies, Lauren arranges it for you and tells you the cost up front.

Do I need to come into an office?

No. Lauren comes to you, whether that’s your home, office or local café, for document reviews, signings and consultations at a time that suits you. A small travel fee applies for mobile appointments in Auckland.

Can you help if I'm outside Auckland?

Yes. Lauren works with clients right across New Zealand. You meet by video call and verify your ID securely online through Real AML, with the same fixed fee and the same person from start to finish.

How much does conveyancing cost?

One fixed fee plus GST, agreed before we start, so you know the cost up front. The initial consultation is free, and for a purchase or sale Lauren only charges once the deal goes unconditional.
